The Buyer's Path
Buying a bluewater cruiser starts before you find the boat.
Excited about buying a boat? That's awesome. But before you dive in, it's crucial to be fully prepared for the bluewater cruising lifestyle. Our Get Set to Sail program helps you determine if this lifestyle is right for you. Our Captain's Circle program equips you with everything you need to know and walks you through the boat-buying process. You'll learn the ins and outs of what to expect, avoid costly mistakes, and gain the confidence to transition smoothly from boat buyer to seasoned bluewater cruiser. With expert guidance, you'll be ready to make informed decisions and start your journey on the right foot.

Overcoming Fear
How to overcome your fear of the unknown and put yourself out there, even if you can't imagine feeling comfortable yet.
Navigating Relationships
How to understand what going sailing really means to your partner and kids, even if they aren't on board or excited right now.
The Financial Blueprint
How to know what it all costs and that you have what you need to make it work, even if you're afraid of running out of money.
The Boat-Buying Formula
How to choose the safest, most comfortable boat within your budget, even if you don't know where to start.
The Boat-Buying Process
How to navigate the boat-purchase process and save money, even if you know nothing about buying boats.
Demystifying Weather
How to face storms and rough seas with a plan, even if the idea of bad weather terrifies you right now.
Straightforward Safety
How to avoid expensive mistakes and dangerous situations and stay safe while cruising, even with no experience.
The Bluewater Cruising Family
How to get the whole family on board, even if you have no idea yet how you'll handle school, friends, and activities.
Your Hosts
People who actually live it.
The workshop and Get Set to Sail are taught by sailors who made the transition themselves, not influencers, not coaches with a theory. Both are still actively cruising.
Keith Whitaker
Sailing Zatara
Sold his suburban Texas house in 2016 and bought a sailboat to circumnavigate the globe with his family. 50,000 miles, three oceans, monohull and catamaran. One of a small number of sailors with serious long-term experience cruising both with kids aboard.
Chris Biasutti
Head Captain · Bluewater Cruising
Walked away from an 8-year international sales career one month before his youngest daughter was born, and bought a boat to sail the world. 20,000 miles across two oceans with his wife and two daughters. Built Bluewater Cruising to give the next generation of aspiring cruisers a path that does not require breaking everything first.
